ReinventingYourselfBof2009

I just stumbled across the entry for the ReinventingYourselfBof2007 and I'd love to join it.

Unfortunately up until now no one proposed this BOF for this year and I have no idea how it would actually look like - but I thought perhaps a former participant of this BOF - or even Johanna herself (I understood that she derived the BOF from one of her sessions) - would be willing to host it. -- 2009-07-08 MichaelMahlberg

Prospective hosts: JohannaRothman (!!) Hey, if there's interest, I would love to host it.
Prospective participants:
I might be interested if I had the slightest idea what it's about. - JerryWeinberg 2009.08.02
This is the session where you look back at your career and see what were the high points and the low points. What do the high points have in common? What do the lows have in common? Can you make some choices to choose again? It depends on how many people participate to know how long things will take and if you walk away with a career line or more. I always hope for more :-))) -- JohannaRothman 2009.08.03
A career line is a whole lot. Don't minimize it.

I'm usually very busy at AYE, meeting people, but this is one bof I'd really like to catch. - JerryWeinberg 08.04.2009

Johanna's session version of this is generated a lot of useful insights for me a few years ago. I recommend it. --DaveSmith 2009.08.05
And, the reason I do it, and that it was so easy to talk me into facilitating the bof is that *I* get something out of it every time I facilitate it. -- JohannaRothman 2009.08.10
It's great that you're willing to put in that extra time! Thanks a lot for that. And since we're already three potential participants it might actually happen. Great! -- MichaelMahlberg 2009.08.13

This session gave me so much insight into my own patterns and things that made me the happiest in my career choices..it also showed why I made some bad career choices.. I would do it again as well. I've shown this to others.. it's transforming.. If Johanna does it, I'll join in. MarjieCarmen 2009.08.25

Sounds very interesting, and I'd love to join in. TobiasFors 2009.09.15

This sounds great, have just added my name as well! -- AbbyFichtner 2009.10.01

This topic encompasses a lot of the reasons I'm motivated to attend AYE. I'm definitely in! Stephen Wood 2009.10.08
Assuming I haven't otherwise been overwhelmed by AYE, I'm definitely interested. -- TedYoung 2009.10.10
Hmm, we may start this Sunday at dinner :-) Because I am tired in the evenings, we may start one evening, where I give you some "homework" and then we get together another evening to start the debrief. Maybe. I'll check in with you folks Sunday at dinner and see how to start. -- JohannaRothman 2009.10.12
I very much wanted to be part of this. However, it turns out that I can't go to AYE this year after all. :-( -- EdmundSchweppe 2009.11.03
Sounds very interesting! I'd love to join in. -- Radha Mukkai 2009.11.05

You've looked back now and have some idea of your patterns. Now it's time to start looking forward. Your homework is to imagine what a day in your life would be. Describe a day in your life. Start from when you wake up:

  • What time do you get up? What time is it?
  • What do you do?
  • Where do you go?

Be as detailed as possible. When we get back together, we will work on ways to get to that place, generating a few possibilities. We will then develop an action plan and you can decide if you want some coaching. -- JohannaRothman 2009.11.09
